Korean Ground Beef and Broccoli

An easy recipe that makes you look forward to dinner time. A staple that can be used along with any sides that you know and love. This easy ground beef recipe will be a hit!

Keep it easy and through the rice in an instant pot or rice cooker! Buy a frozen bag of broccoli so that you can stick the bag in the microwave and forget about it. Focus on cooking the meat and kick back.

Tips for this recipe:

  • To make the recipe a little bit more citrusy, add a splash more orange juice. Citrus juice is commonly found in many Asian style recipes as it’s native to that part of the world. Try it out!
  • This recipe calls for 1/2 cup of brown sugar. The meat does turn out a little sweet, so keep that in mind when you are leveling your measuring cup.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
4 minced garlic cloves
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 brown sugar
1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
1 tablespoon cornstarch
3 cups of cooked rice
3 cups steamed broccoli
2 sliced green onions for garnish
1 tablespoon sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Start cooking your rice!
  2. Brown ground beef in skillet over medium high heat and break into small pieces.
  3. Add garlic and stir to combine.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, orange juice, brown sugar, sesame oil, and cornstarch.
  5. Pour mixture over ground beef. Stir to combine. Simmer meat on low for 5 minutes.
  6. Steam broccoli while beef simmers.
  7. Serve over rice with broccoli and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
